About Me
I'm a pretty laid back person who enjoys learning new things, skimming through reference books, taking long walks in the city and hikes through Central Park.
I'm very natural in my approach to life and self-presentation. Although I consider myself a girly-girl, I don't like to wear anything more than lip gloss and clear mascara when it comes to make-up, and prefer to spend my time with people who are down-to-earth and comfortable to be around - like an old sweater. :)
Some of my favorites:
Books: Books that explore the developing (modern) economic systems in Asia, reference, and the history and evolution of various religions, cultures and beliefs.
Movies: Angel at My Table, Memron, Au Revoir Les Enfants, Raise the Red Lanterns, The Kitchen Toto, Hope and Glory, Election, Galaxy Quest, They Young Poisoner's Handbook, Night John, Dawn of the Dead (original and remake), The Thing (remake), Unforgiven, Rabbit Proof Fence, Everything Is Fine (the original Italian version); and almost ANY movie that has Paul Newman or Bill Murray in it.
Music: Nanci Griffith, Mississippi John Hurt, Warrant, Jimi Hendrix, Bruce Springsteen, Tina Turner, Raconteurs, The White Stripes, Macy Gray, and others. I love music! Also reggae (but think Bob Marley reggae :)) and some Spanish songs - my fave right now is Como Curar - even though I don't understand the lyrics. :D I think it means the cure though.
Food: Anything exotic, sweet and spicy.
What I'm Looking For
Someone who is intelligent, kind, down to earth and has goals, both personal and professional they would like to reach. I am very partial to men who are not stuck up and are warm toward people who may be seen as or look like they walk the fringes of a society obsessed with superficial looks, tags, and arrogant cliques. If a man can be good to those who are the most downtrodden and struggling to survive, he has big points in my book.
