The Dow Jones industrials ($INDU) closed down 265 points, or 2.5%, to 10,379. The SandP 500 tumbled 32 points, or 2.8%, to 1,089, and the Nasdaq Composite Index ($COMPX) was off 69 points, or 3%, to 2,209.
