About Me
I love music and take my mp3 player with me everywhere. I require music, or at least some kind of white noise. Whoever said silence was deafening had it right. I enjoy watching movies, a few select TV shows, reading non-fiction, playing games of the board, video, or card variety, looking around the dark corners of the internet, taking walks, taking random drives, and just sitting on the couch doing absolutely nothing can be nice at times, too.
I work in state government. Due to a series of ridiculous and unfortunate circumstances, I never finished college. There's a long story behind that, which I will happily tell you sometime.
I am out of a nearly 4 year relationship that ended with a broken engagement. I'm ready to start the next chapter in life and find someone who is smart, curious, funny, and all around awesome, who I can build a life with.
I'm not looking for a rebound, or a quickie or anything like that. I want the real deal. Long term.
About me... I like to think I'm a pretty nice guy. I have manners, and I know respect. I would like to think I'm a pretty considerate, compassionate, and genuine guy. I was raised primarily by women, I never had much of a father figure, and for that reason I tend to get along with women more easily than men. I also like to believe that because of my upbringing, I am more respectful to women than the average guy. You be the judge.
I have a geeky side. I love learning new things, and have recently found a few books that fascinate me enough to start reading again... prior to my discovery I would read news articles, magazines, and product labels or owner's manuals. ha. I love the board game Carcassonne. I like video games, but I am not one of "those" guys, either. I love little adventures, and would like to find someone to go on said adventures with me. I have a silly and sarcastic sense of humor, but I definitely know when it's appropriate and when it's not.
Music-wise, I am a fan of all types, but given a choice, I tend to go more towards alternative rock and classic rock. Some favorites:
