Profile Tips for Women

When a woman signs up for a dating site, there are many things she needs to do. But the first and foremost thing is filling out the online profile. There is one important think to remember - There IS a secret to filling out a great profile. And not only that, a woman’s profile will always be different from a man’s profile. A man’s profile will be more sharp and edgy, while a woman’s profile will have a slightly “rounded edge” to it and be softer, more sincere.

First thing you need to do is look at the positives.

What is the best part about you? Is it your eyes? How about your hair? What ever that one physical quality is that you know absolutely no man can resist is, write about it on your profile. But don’t be crude about it. You are trying to attract your perfect man, so you have to think about what you’re saying. On the same token, you do not want to go overboard either. You know what I mean. The point is to try to talk it up without talking it to death. That is a profile killer.

Next, you want to think about what kind of photo to use.

You should never use a photo of anyone else than yourself. For example, if you upload a photo of your best friend because you wish you had her beautiful hair or her smoking butt, how are you going to explain away the obvious lie when you finally meet someone face to face? This is a situation that no one ever wants to deal with. Besides, if you feel that bad, why are you on an online dating site looking for a man?

The photo you choose will need to be of yourself and preferably, a full standing shot. It shouldn’t be anything lewd or raunchy, but a nicely posed and comfortable full body photo of yourself. Maybe someone took a photo of you while you were at a party and they caught a shot of you laughing and your smile looks nice at that particular moment. A shot like that would be perfect, as it allows other people to see you, the real you, in a natural pose.

If you put up a photo of yourself in a compromising position, it will make you look bad. Besides, if you want to look like that, or attract that type of man, there are other sites for that sort of thing. You want to include a photo of yourself that will make you look good.

Managing who you talk to

Now, one particular thing to remember that not many people realize about an online dating site’s profile is that it can also be used to keep certain people away. Is there a certain type of person you want to meet? Is there just a particular quality in a man that you don’t want to have to come into contact with?

Use your profile to let them know. Not in a nasty “I don’t like men who xyz” way, but is a tactful, “I know what I want” way. What you could do is say something like, “I am looking for an intelligent athlete, someone who maybe knows a lot of computers and can sing.” From my perspective, this tells me that you are looking for a man who has a nice voice, takes care of himself physically but isn’t the “dumb jock” type you can’t stand.

This is the most tactful way to keep others you don’t want to meet off of your profile and out of your inbox. In the long run it could make things easier because you don’t have to waste time weeding out of the man you are talking to fits your standards. He is talking to you because he read what you wrote and knows he fits your profile.

If you play your cards right…

…writing your profile can be the best thing you have ever done for yourself You can tell a whole life story in just a few paragraphs, and let the world know that you know what you want and aren’t afraid to ask for it. And being honest and upfront is always the best way to write your profile. No matter what you write, always be honest. Dishonesty will only bring you heartache.
